William Bruce Reid

William Bruce Reid passed peacefully away on Monday, July 20, 2015 of heart failure at Asante Rouge Regional Medical Center. Bruce was the first born son to Alfred and Claire Reid of Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. He was 89 and was looking forward to his 90th birthday milestone on November 20, 2015. While on vacation to America, Bruce had the fortune to meet Elizabeth Provost of Clearlake, California. Bruce and Elizabeth married on September 12, 1980 and split their time in Clearlake and Australia for many years until retiring to the Medford area to be closer to Elizabeth’s family. He is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth, daughter Wendy Reid, step-son David (Bambi) Powers, 7 grandchildren, his brothers John, Willis, Graham and sister Thelma. He was preceded in death by his son Peter and daughter Allison. Bruce, your family in Australia fondly remember you as warm, loving, energetic, enthusiastic, driven, sympathetic, and wise. Each of our lives has been enhanced by knowing you. We are so grateful. Your loving daughter Wendy and her son John Daniel, brothers John, Graham, Willis and his wife Jan, and sister Thelma and her husband Richard and their respective families. Cousins Allen, June, Frances, Noel and his wife Marge and their families. A celebration of life will be held to honor Bruce at a later date in his childhood home of The Rock, Australia and his ashes will be scattered in the fields where he and his siblings played as children.
