

Born February 8, 1919 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Albert and May (Chestworth) Scheu.
Don grew up in the Buffalo area and graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He joined the US Army in 1942 and served in WWII in the Pacific Theatre of Operation. Don maintained an active friendship and attended many reunions for 523rd Company in which he served.
He returned to the Western NY area and married Isabelle (Jane) Findlay in 1951. They moved to the Medina area in 1968 where Don was District Manager for Niagara Mohawk. He also taught Electrical Engineering at Erie Community College.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #336 of Medina, The Medina Rotary Club, Senior Citizens Groups, and was a Literacy Volunteer .Don loved all sports, especially softball and baseball. During his time in the Medina Rotary Club he started the Rotary Little League Baseball Program in 1969. He was very active in his church. Don loved animals, having many pets, and enjoyed traveling with his family.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Jane (Findlay) Scheu.
Loving daughter Robyn (Gary) Watts of Medina and son Ronald (Lisa) Scheu of NC and seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren whom he cherished deeply..
He was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Lynn Scheu and a brother Arthur Heller of Lancaster, NY.
Calling hours will be Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 11AM-12PM at Millville Methodist Church, 12373 Maple Ridge Road, Medina, NY 14103, with a funeral service to be held at12 noon., Full military honors will be accorded and burial will be in the National Veterans Cemetery in Bath, NY on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA, the Humane Society, or the Shelby Volunteer Fire Company.
