Doris May Howes

Born on November 21, 1926 in Albion, NY, she was the daughter of the late Oris and Madeline (Britt) Grimes.

She was one of Jehovah’s Faithful Witnesses since 1943. She retired from the Newell’s Shirt Factory as a cutter in 1999. She enjoyed outdoor activities and spending time with her grandchildren and was known for her elaborate dinners and sense of humor.

She is survived by three children, Milton (Bonnie) Woodhull of Grand Island, NY, Margaret Jean (Don) Hill of Albion, NY, Philip (Cheryl) Howes of Medina, six grandchildren, Sherice, Amber, Brandon, Candy, Jeremy and Brigitte, one great- granddaughter, Naomi, two brothers, Clinton (Joyce) Grimes of N. Tonawanda, NY, Roger (Sandy) Grimes of Marietta, GA, and several nieces and nephews.

Doris is predeceased by her spouse, Walter F. Howes and a sister Helen Owen.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 2-4 PM at the Middleport Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3830 Stone Rd. Middleport, NY, where a memorial service will be held at 4:00PM. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
