Deacon Herman Walker

Born on August 29, 1948 in Perry, GA, he was the son of Bertha (Turner) Walker and the late Deacon Lewis B. Walker.

In 1967, Herman joined the U.S. Airforce, having served in Da Nang, Vietnam and on returning home he worked various jobs. On August 29, 1976, he married the former Barbara Girley, together raising three children. He attended the University of Brockport, graduating in 1993 with a degree in Social Work. Lastly, he retired from Brunner International in March of this year, due to illness. He was a faithful Deacon at the Glad Tidings Baptist Church of Medina and loved fishing and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, children, Nikki Holloway of Rochester, NY, Utopia Goodson of Bradenton, FL, Walter (Eleasha) Walker of California, 13 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, London Goodson, five brothers, two sisters, and a host of nieces and nephews. A Goddaughter, Crystal Jones of Kentucky.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, October 23, 2015, from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00AM at the Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God, 324 Catherine St. Medina, NY 14103 with Rev. Lambert Duncan from Glad Tidings Baptist Church officiating. Military Honors will be accorded after the going home service by the Lincoln Post # 1483 V.F.W. Butts- Clark Post #204 American Legion. Burial will be held the following Friday in Perry, GA.
