Luis A Martinez

MEDINA — Luis Martinez, 66, of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 12, 2012 while at home. Born on June 26, 1945 in San German, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Manuel and Dolores (Lugo) Martinez.

Luis came to Medina from Puerto Rico in 1973. He was employed with the Whiting Door Co. of Akron, NY, from which he retired in 2007. Luis enjoyed being a handyman and helping other people and loved taking long walks.

Luis is survived by an aunt, Maria Pica of Lockport; uncle, Augustine Martinez of Medina; cousins, Maria (John L.) Martinez Adams of Lockport, Daisy (Victor) Martinez Rondon of Buffalo, Nina Pica of Lockport; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina, NY. A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary's Church, West Ave., Medina, NY, with the Pastor, Rev. Daniel J. Fawls, celebrating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Luis's name to the family.
