
She was born August 13, 1921 in Kenyonville, NY, the daughter of the late Louis and Apolonia (Wielgusz) Marek. She graduated from Waterport High School in 1940 and Rochester Business Institute. She worked as a secretary for Delco Appliance (GMC); The Richford Hotel, Bond Stores Manufacturing Co. and Fasco Industries, all of Rochester.
Marion was a member of the US Civil Air Patrol in Rochester and was a four year member of the US Navy Reserve, training at Rochester Monroe Armory and Brooklyn Naval Yard. Marion enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, ceramics, gardening and cooking. Marion and her late husband, Stephan were co-owners of Speedy ‘s Hotel (The Cobblestone Inn on the Ridge) for many years. She was a member of the Holy Trinity/St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Medina and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Medina VFW .
She was predeceased by her husband Stephan in 1987 and also by a son, Johnny Czarnopyski , brothers, Frank Marek, Walter Mark and Julius Marek, a sister-in-law Dorothy Marek and a grandson, Aaron Civiock.
Marion is survived by her daughter (Christine (Lynn Roberts) Czarnopyski of Kent. Son, Michael F. Czarnopyski of Medina. Two sisters-in-law; Jean Marek of Lyndonville, and Mary Jean Marek of Albion. Nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 7-9PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl Street, Medina, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina, NY at 11 AM with Rev. Daniel J. Fawls officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s R.C. Cemetery.
