Richard Holloway Sr.

Born on September 13, 1935 in Fort Valley, GA, he was the son of the late Floyd and Equilla (Merrit) Holloway.

In June of 1976, he married the late and former, Eloise (Hammonds) Holloway, together raising 12 children. He was employed with the Medina Department of Public Works at the Waste Treatment Plant, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, long walks, reading his Bible and playing with his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by ten children, James (Pearlene) Tabor of Medina; Frank (and wife) Tabor of Charlotte, NC; Diane Brown of Medina; Cynthia Coleman of Rochester; Teresa (James) Armstrong of Trenton, NJ; Richard K. (Mary) Holloway, Clyde (Devoraha) Holloway, Regina Holloway, Melonie Holloway, Antonius Holloway and a sister-in-law, Glennis Chinn, all of Medina. Also survived is a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Richard is predeceased by two sons, Jessie Lee Tabor and Michael Holloway.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday evening, December 17, 2014, from 7-9 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, 10:00 AM at the Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, 324 Catherine St. Medina, NY 14103, with the Rev. Benjamin Shannon officiating and burial will be in the Boxwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Richard’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
