

Mr. Cardone was born in Medina, New York on June 1, 1921, one of seven children born to Dominic and Mary Scolozzi Cardone.
Mr. Cardone was a life-long resident of Medina, New York. He graduated from Hamilton College in 1943 with a double major in history and economics. After serving in the United States Army in the Pacific Conflict during World War II, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Law Degree in 1948 from Cornell University. Mr. Cardone's legal career spanned five decades in both civil and criminal cases. He tried cases in courtrooms throughout New York State. He enjoyed an excellent reputation among his fellow attorneys and judges as a man who observed the highest ethical standards of professional conduct. He received many honors throughout his lifetime including a 1970s Man of the Year award. While known throughout Western New York for his legal skills, Mr. Cardone also enjoyed a personal reputation as a businessman who was greatly supportive of the best interests of his hometown of Medina. He was outspoken and controversial at times but always with the passion of someone who cared deeply about his community and his family. Those who knew him well referred to him affectionately as Vince or Vinnie.
In the company of his family and friends, one could often find him out and about the Village of Medina overseeing construction jobs or having a heated political discussion. He considered his family to be the center of his universe.
His love of his parents and siblings was surpassed only by his love for and unwavering commitment to his wife and six children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Mary Cardone, his sisters Sara Calandra, Kay Chiarolanza and Alice Rosato and his brothers, Frank, Bert, and Joseph Cardone.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Rose Burgio Cardone, and his six children, Rosalind (Dr. Charles) Lind, Renee Cardone (Dr. Lucien “Terry” Winegar), Dominic Cardone, Honorable Kathleen Cardone (Bruce Neugebauer) Joseph (Jennifer) Cardone and Michael (Kathleen) Cardone and his grandchildren, Dr. Benjamin (Catherine) Lind , Dr. Maria (David) Westbrook, Nathaniel Winegar, Melanie (David) Jasinski, Dominic “Nico” Neugebauer, and Rosalind, Michael, Sophia, Michaela, and Teanna Cardone and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 28 from 2-4 pm. And 7-9 pm at Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl Street, Medina NY 14103. A mass in celebration of his life will be held on Friday, August 29 at 11 am at Holy Trinity/St. Mary's R.C. Church.
