Beverly was born on March 8th, 1935 in Meeker Colorado to parents John F Purkey and Josephine M Purkey. Beverly is from a large family of six sisters and three brothers, graduating from Meeker High School.
Beverly met and married the love of her life, Marcus Russell Richardson on February 13th, 1954.
The Richardson couple then moved to Worland, Wyoming where her children were born, two sons Craig E. and Marc A. and a daughter Stacey M.
In 1960, the Richardson family moved to Irving Texas, there she enjoyed many happy years together with the love of her life until her husband’s death in August of 1968.
Beverly and her small children spent the following year in Irving before moving to western Colorado. She purchased homes in and around Glenwood springs.
Beverly enjoyed working at Ski Sunlight Resort, there she met many townfolk and developed numerous friendships. She pursued higher education at Colorado Mountain College to assist her new career goals in real estate.
In 1974, Beverly met and married a man from Prescott Arizona, William E Pierce. She relocated to Prescott with him, taking her daughter to finish school while allowing her two oldest sons to remain in Colorado.
During the winter months of 1977, Beverly leased a residence in Eagle/Vail Colorado and enjoyed the Christmas holiday with her family.
On December 27th 1977, Beverly lost control of her vehicle and was seriously injured leaving her paralyzed on her left side and with partial memory loss, despite this Beverly never lost her sense of humor, she strained against the affects of her injuries with a fighters instinct. Prior to the accident her strength of character and courage were on full display as she raised her family, and that contributed greatly after becoming disabled. She was a favorite of many who cared for her as her wit was undeniable and she frequently got the attention of unsuspecting guests with a pinch to the rear end.
She enjoyed spending devotion time with loved ones and reading God’s word that strengthened her faith and dependence on the Lord. Beverly embraced the new horizon of life to come with her lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hug your mother.
