Gayla lived a life filled with many chapters, experiences, laughter, and friendships. She had a personality all her own and a way of making an impression on the people she met.
Those who were fortunate enough to call her a friend will remember her for the laughter they shared, the good times they enjoyed, and the memories that will remain long after her passing.
Gayla especially cherished her friendships. Many of her friends remember the fun, the laughter, and the adventures they shared over the years. Her friendships, including those she formed while working at Watts, became an important part of her life. The
many messages of love and remembrance shared after her passing are a testament to how deeply she was cared for and how much she will be missed.
Gayla was the daughter of Joe and Evalyn Carstens and the mother of Heather Weiland (Todd Weiland). She was a grandmother to Ethan Weiland, Camden Weiland, and Mackenzi Richardson, and a sister to Suzanne Gerloff (Rodney Gerloff) and Sherri Halandras.
Gayla was preceded in death by her beloved son, Clinton Richardson. Clinton was deeply loved and is greatly missed by his family and those who knew him. His memory remains an important part of Gayla's family story, and she now joins the son she had
carried in her heart since his passing.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Heather Weiland; her grandchildren, Ethan Weiland, Camden Weiland, and Mackenzi Richardson; her parents, Joe and Evalyn Carstens; her sisters, Suzanne Gerloff and Sherri Halandras; extended family; and the
many friends whose lives she touched along the way.
Gayla's life reminds us that the people we meet and the memories we create become part of the story we leave behind. For many, Gayla will be remembered as a good friend, a woman who shared laughter, made memories, and brought her own unique spirit to
the lives of those around her. Her final months were difficult, but after a long struggle with illness, she can now rest peacefully.
Rest easy, Gayla. May you be remembered for the laughter, the friendship, and the good times. You will be missed by many.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the White River Methodist Church in Meeker. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery.
