It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Amy Rochelle Frix Pollan's passing on June 10, 2025, at the age of 48. After a courageous battle with breast cancer, she went home to be with the Lord. Amy was born in Memphis, TN on August 23, 1976, to Glynn and Rosemary Frix.
A lifelong Memphian and 1994 graduate of White Station High School, Amy earned her degree in paralegal studies from the University of Memphis in 2001. Following several years in private practice, she joined FedEx in November 2003, where she became a Senior Paralegal Specialist in the Legal Aircraft and Transportation Group.
Amy cherished spending time with her family, traveling, sightseeing and relaxing at the beach. Her selfless nature led her to volunteer with numerous charitable organizations, most notably Courage Thru Cancer and West Fight On, benefiting the West Cancer Foundation. Outside of being a mother this was her greatest passion.
After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis in early 2017 and achieving a victory over the cancer in October of 2017 Amy's cancer returned in November of 2021. One week after learning this news Amy's strength and spirit were recognized in 2021 by Courage Thru Cancer, a local organization that is dedicated to supporting, encouraging and inspiring those facing cancer. This recognition was so fitting because Amy truly embodied what it meant to be a warrior. She faced her challenges with unwavering resolve and a deep commitment to living life fully.
Her family-Benji, Grayson and Anna- were her constant motivation, her "why" for fighting with such incredible determination. Even as she battled her illness, Amy showed us all how to move forward with grace, gratitude and generosity. Despite everything she faced, she always had a beautiful smile and her spirit remained strong, truly #AmyStrong.
Amy lived by the motto "No let up, No give up," not only for herself but also in her tireless advocacy for others. She was a devoted friend, a trusted confidante, and an inspiration to countless people. Her kindness, gentleness, and fierce bravery made her a true light in the world.
Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willie Guy Frix (Paw Paw), Aileen Seaton Frix (Maw Maw), and Pedro G. Quiroz (Grandpa).
She is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, Benji Pollan; her son, Grayson Andrew Pollan; her daughter, Anna Marie Pollan; her parents, David Glynn Frix and Rosemary Quiroz Frix; her brother, Stephen Eric Frix, his wife April and their children Elijah, Caleb, Seaton and Trevor; her brother, Jonathan David Frix, his wife Jessica and their children Bianca and Guy; her 99 year old maternal grandmother Grace Jasso Quiroz and many aunts, uncles, cousins and family throughout Texas and Tennessee.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Hope Church, located at 8500 Walnut Grove Rd, Cordova, TN 38018 on Wednesday June 18, 2025 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00pm.
Flowers are welcomed and encouraged by the family. Should family or friends desire, memorial gifts can be sent to http://www.ctcmemphis.org in Amy's name.
