

ANDREW CALVIN “CHIP” BROWN, JR., 69, of Germantown, TN, died peacefully and went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2014. Born in Memphis, TN and raised in Dallas, TX, Chip proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Basilone during the Vietnam War and later became a local small business owner. He was a member of Central Church and a beloved husband and father who will be remembered for how much he adored his family. Chip was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Lawrence of Mesquite, TX and his younger brother Skip Brown of Dallas, TX. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Lana Lack Brown, as well as his sister Jeannie Knight (Duane) of Memphis, TN, his son Collin Brown (Fawn) of Washington, D.C., daughters Courtney Murphree (Leland) and Kelly Tomas (Brad) of Birmingham, AL, granddaughters Charlotte and Lucy Murphree and Olivia Tomas, and grandsons Jack Murphree and Graham Tomas. The visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home on 5599 Poplar Avenue on Tuesday, August 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the funeral at Memphis Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 6 at 11 a.m.
