Drew was the love of my life. I can't imagine ever finding someone that gets me like he did. We couldn't seem to get the timing right, and that sucks, but the love was always there. He was so talented and funny and smart and special. He was everything and my heart will forever be broken. I miss his stupid face so much........

One could say many things about Drew, and many have. Many of those things from people who did not truly know the person I called my friend. Drew and I were not close before his death, not for some time, but I am left with nothing but good things to say about him still. He was reckless... He was lost.... He had his demons and sometimes he let them win. Drew was not in any way perfect or what society considers "good" , but at his core and radiating through his being were only things I could only describe as good. He cared. Not just for himself, in fact, probably less about himself in many ways than how he cared for humans in general. He showed up when no one else was around and saved my life in ways he will never know. Drew didn't judged you. He accepted you. If he said he loved you, the boy freaking loved you at your best and your worst and anytime in between. His criminal record may tell a different story but the kid was honest. Honest in the things that matter. He was lost and looking for something to hold onto that could see him... Truly see him... And it be okay. To be someone to someone and to get back what he gave. When you were with Drew, he seemed to give you a little break from the world. A moment to catch your breath and a place to rest that no one expected anything and someone enjoyed your company. 
At times, he could only see the darkness in his path and no matter how many times you showed him the light shining through, it faded quickly once it wasn't being pointed out and focused on. My heart breaks knowing what we lost here. He was a rare light that could never see his own glow , but he certainly helped illuminate my path and I'll never forget the incredible person he was. Rest easy, Drew. You deserve to. 💕
