Anita Howell Carrington

Anita Howell Carrington, 98, of Memphis passed away peacefully on July 28, 2016. Born September 20, 1917, in Friendship, TN, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Harvey Carrington, her mother, Mallie Howell, and her brothers, Rivers, Harold, and George Howell. She is survived by her daughter, Anita Kahler (Russ) of Cleveland, OH; a son, Charley Carrington (Nila) of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Cindy Kahler, Tami Floyd (Hank), Lori Fodo (Ron), Grayson Ring, Alin Carrington, and Luke Carrington. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew, and Andrew Fodo, Collin, Hallie, Madeline, and Alyssa Floyd, and Brody and Bentley Ring. Anita was a homemaker, teacher at Joyland Kindergarden, and a salesperson for Dreifus Jewelers. She was a long-time member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. She loved her church family and the Golden Agers group. The family will gather to receive friends on Friday, August 5, between 5-8 p.m. at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122. A funeral service will be Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 2 pm at Family Funeral Care. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridgeway Baptist Church.
