Anita was born January 9, 1923 to the late Reuben and Amy Ellis in Enterprise, Alabama. She was the youngest of three children.
Anita married John L. Hopper on September 6, 1946. They resided in Memphis, Tn. This union blessed them with the birth of a loving daughter, Celeste. John Hopper preceded Anita in death on October 6, 1989.
Anita was employed and retired from Buckman Laboratories of Memphis, Tn. for 29 years. While there, she was a dedicated employee and cherished friend to many. She also was a column writer for the Southern Archery Magazine and a bible school teacher at church for many years. She also wrote poems for a greeting card company for sometime.
She loved to play the piano and sing and was always making people laugh! Her and John were avid archers. They loved the sport and won many competitions. She loved her church and church family so much. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.” She never got bored for she loved to watch and snuggle with her granddogs!
Her life and memory will forever be cherished in the lives of her daughter, Celeste Hamilton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her treasured parents, Reuben and Amy Ellis, her sister, Myra Owens, and her brother, Adolph (Buddy) Ellis.
