Anita Gene Ilsley

It is great with great sadness that we announce that Anita Gene Ilsley passed away in her Home on Thursday June 25, 2026. Anita was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 2, 1954. Anita was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School Class of 1973.

Anita had a huge heart and was full of life joy and happiness!

She was the adored and cherished Daughter of France’s L. and Eugene R. Ilsley Sr.

She was a devoted and loving sister to Frank Ilsley (Sara), William Ilsley (Saundra), Marilyn Zanini-Pirani (Barkat Ali), Eugene R. Ilsley Jr. (Joy) along with many loving nieces and nephews that she adored.

Anita moved in the late 70’s from Memphis to South San Francisco Bay Area and worked for many years in the Bay Area. She retired this last year and moved back to Memphis to be with her family and friends.

Anita was a lover of all Sports and activities. She was a member of many Bowling leagues and vey active in softball during her high school years.

Anita had many dear and close friends over the years. One very special person close to her heart was Ms. Cathy Patterson who Anita resided with for many years before leaving the Bay Area.

Anita was a very special person who was loved by many, she touched many lives and hearts over her lifetime and will be greatly missed.

Anita leaves behind a legacy of strength, love and compassion that will live on in us forever.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119, US, on July 22, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A Graveside Service will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road, Memphis, TN 38134, US, on July 22, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
