Annjanette was born on April 13, 1941, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to the late Earl and Nell Emery. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and woman of faith whose kindness and creativity touched the lives of many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Lovett.
Annjanette was a longtime member of Germantown Baptist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She shared her love of music through her beautiful gift of playing the piano and singing in the church choir. She also played the piano for church services, using her musical talents to bless others.
A gifted educator, Annjanette taught home economics at Bartlett High School and Kirby High School. She had a natural gift for teaching and enjoyed sharing practical skills and creativity with her students.
Annjanette was known for her love of sewing and her remarkable creativity. She especially enjoyed making beautiful, ornate cards for birthdays and other special occasions. These handmade cards were a reflection of the thoughtfulness and care she put into everything she did and became a special way for her to let family and friends know they were loved and remembered.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Steve Lovett (Shari) and Becky Hope; her grandchildren, Kali Bernards (Dustin), Aiden Lovett, Bronwyn Lovett, Reid Hope, Reagan Hope, and Rainey Hope; and her great-grandchildren, Kade Bernards and Piper Bernards.
Annjanette leaves behind a legacy of faith, music, creativity, teaching, and—most importantly—love for her family. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, August 27 at Germantown Baptist Church 9450 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN. Services will follow at 11:00am. Interment will be at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN at 2:00pm.
