Ashton Christine Alford, 20 was taken from us on April 2, 2011 in an automobile accident. Ashton was born January 7, 1991 and was a resident of Germantown TN. Ashton graduated from St. George’s Independent School in 2009 where she produced a remarkable list of academic and civic accomplishments. Ashton was an accomplished dancer resulting in a college scholarship at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She was a sophomore pursuing a double major in dance and philosophy with plans to enter law school upon graduation. Her hard work earned her a spot on the Dean’s List at Alabama. I did not know Ashton, but I was on Youtube and came across a song dedicated to her by two of her friends. The song was amazing, and I'm sure it doesn't compare to what Ashton had accomplished in her life. Obviously she had many people that cared for her. Sory that she was taken from you Alfrod family. My condolences.

Christy, Was reminiscing with an old friend about our childhood days and people we remembered from so long ago when we thought of you and stumbled across the horrible tragedy you have been through. Though its been 40 years or so since we last saw each other, the pain you must be feeling left us both hurting for a childhood friend. We didnt know your daughter and it doesnt really matter. We both have children and can only imagine how you feel. May you somehow find peace and serenity in the coming days and know that there are people youve long forgotten praying for you and your family. Your loss has touched many, many people.

Do not stand by the grave and cry

She is not there; she did not die

To be absent from the body is to be
present with the Lord.

The human body is temporary, but the faithful, united community of God's people helps connect us to things eternal.
God's word is true.
