Athala Mae Wright Pierini, age 92, passed away on August 10, 2021. She is survived by her daughter, Phylis Pierini Ellis; two grandsons, Deaton Payne "Patrick" Ellis, III and Dr. Matthew Stephen Ellis; and one great-granddaughter, Norah Nichole Ellis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Umbert Pierini, Jr.; son, Philip Umbert Pierini, III; brother, Jake T. Wright; and nephew, Kenneth Wright.
She lovingly worked by the side of her husband who owned Delta Door and Hardware Company. Athala was a long-time member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Sunday, August 15 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel, 5599 Poplar Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 16 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1425 East Shelby Drive. Interment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1663 Elvis Presley Boulevard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
