Barbara Marie Cohen

Barbara M. Cohen, 75, passed on June 15, after a short illness. Barbara was the founder of the Tennessee Academy of Cosmetology. She is survived by her husband Ronald Cohen; three children Michelle & Mitchell Garrett, Kimberly Mitchell & Stephen Cohen; six grandchildren Leigh Ann, Lauren, Andrew, Daryl, Alexandra and Kim; three great-grandchildren June, Joe & Myla; sisters Janie Fields and Floye Cox; and brothers Charles “Bunky” Winter and Roby Winter. The family invites guests to a catered gathering on Saturday, the 18th of June from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, and to memorial services on Sunday, the 19th beginning at eleven o’clock in the morning all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 713 S. Mendenhall Road; Memphis, TN 38117 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 all in Barbara’s name.
