Barbara Jean Buening Kelly, age 94, of Germantown, Tennessee, wife of Robert E. Kelly for nearly 74 years went home to live with her Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Barbara was born March 13, 1927 in Brownstown, Indiana.
She was a generous, civic-minded servant. She spent many years supporting the Memphis Family Shelter and was strong in her Christian faith. She was an expert in flower arranging. She won several awards and judged many shows. She will be lovingly missed by her many friends and family. May God bless this new citizen of His Kingdom.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, three granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, September1 beginning at 10:00 AM, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 8816 Poplar Pike, Germantown, Tennessee. Interment will immediately follow at at 11:00 AM, at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, Tennessee. There will be no visitation.
A memorial service celebrating her life and legacy will be held at the church, on Sunday, September 12 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Faith Presbyterian Church, Tunnel 2 Towers, or Wounded Warrior Project.
