Ben Drexler

Ben Drexler¸99, of Germantown, owner/operator of Ben Drexler, Co. for over forty years, died August 23, 2010 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 25 in the Levy Cooper Chapel in Temple Israel Cemetery beginning at 2:30p.m. Mr. Drexler was born in Wynne, Arkansas, the last and youngest child, to the late Mike and Dora Glass Drexler. His sisters Bessie, Lena, Rose, and brothers Mitchell, Manual, David and Lee all preceded him in death. Mr. Drexler was a member of Temple Israel and a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps. During the war he was stationed in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, PA. While stationed in Philly, he met his future wife Selma Leider on Christmas Night in 1942 while at the Stage Door Canteen. They were married for fifty-eight years before her death in 2001. Mr. Drexler is survived by his son Dennis Drexler (Martha); and granddaughter Allison Drexler all of Germantown, TN.
