Until recently, Bob was a lifelong Memphian who was born on October 11, 1933 as one of eleven children born to the late Charles Lehman & Frances Malissa Ricks. He was a graduate of Memphis Technical High School, Class of 1951.
He loved all types of sports, especially baseball, softball and Memphis Tigers Basketball. He loved camping, hunting and was a member of the Wolf Pen Hunting Camp.
Bob worked for South Central Bell Telephone Company designing telecommunication systems until his retirement.
Bob was an active member of Christ Church Bartlett until his recent move. He taught Sunday School, and served as a greeter.
Along with his parents Bob was preceded in death by his ten siblings, and his wife Barbara Donnelly Ricks.
Bob's memory will live on with his daughter Sheri (Joel) Stroud of Clarksdale, Mississippi; sons Rusty (Kim) Ricks of Hominy Falls, West Virginia and Barry (Jonie) Ricks of Johnson City, Tennessee; his stepson Steve (Patty) Pannell; stepdaughters Pamela Tannehill and Jamie Isabell; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, September 21 beginning at one o'clock in the afternoon until funeral services begin at two o'clock all at Christ Church Bartlett, 6033 Old Brownsville Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38135.
The family requests any financial donations be made to Christ Church Bartlett in Mr. Rick's honor.
