Bennie was born February 15, 1933 in Tupelo, MS to Barrett and Bertha (Atkins) Moore. Growing up, her family moved frequently due to the Great Depression. She spent her younger years in Birmingham, AL before moving to Memphis, TN to attend Memphis Tech High School for her senior year (class of 1951). After marrying her high school sweetheart Donald Pasley, she gave birth to Don Pasley Jr. (Julia), Celeste Pasley (John Cervetti), and John Pasley (Sissy). After raising her children, she traveled Tennessee singing with The Red Hat Society, and met monthly with her Tech High classmates. In her later years she married the love of her life Thomas Campbell. They split their time between Memphis and Vail, CO, where they loved skiing together and hosting friends and family.
She leaves behind her 3 children, her sister Louise Robertson, her grand children Joshua Pasley, Graham DeKay (Nichole), Sean Campbell (Leslie), Steven Young (Jalisa), Taylor Brigham (Daniel), and Alison De Priest (Michael), and her great grandchildren Lucy and Graham Campbell, Mia and Liam DeKay, Mae Young, and Owen Brigham. She also loved all of Tom’s children and grandchildren as her own.
Preceded in death by her parents, her sister Inez Donahoo, her brother Aubrey Moore, and her husband Tom.
Bennie was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all, and she will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held on July 9th at 11 am at Christ the King Lutheran Church.
