On a beautiful, sunny morning, November 27; God opened the gates of heaven for his child Bentley Owen Browning. Now he is free of the debilitating disease of diabetes, which he suffered from for many years. In his younger years he was an all-star athlete. One of his cherished accomplishments was being on the winning team of the Mickey Mantle World Series in 1979. Never meeting a stranger he was a guy who was easy to know and love.
Bentley is predeceased by his mother Sarah Owen Carter. His survivors include, Gordon Wayne Browning II, brother (who cared for him); Blake Owen Browning, son; Gordon Wayne Browning, father; Harriet Justus Browning, step-mother.
Services are scheduled for Friday, December 1, at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer, Memphis, TN. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with the service following at 12:00 noon. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in his name at www.diabetes.org.
