Betty Allemong Dorsey was born July 18, 1931 in Omps, West Virginia--the youngest of 7 siblings. She married James Howard Dorsey November 11, 1948. They had four children--Deborah Dorsey Jones, Dwayne Keith Dorsey, Beverly Dorsey Jordan and Brian Craig Dorsey. Howard’s job relocated them to Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Delaware. Betty always maintained a loving home for her family. Neighbors, friends and children were always welcome. Following Howard’s death in 1975, Betty became a permanent resident of Memphis, TN. She is survived by her sister, Eileen Reeder, her 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren (with one more on the way). Services will be held at Memphis Funeral Home Friday, June 9th 2017 at 2pm with visitation preceding at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baptist Reynolds Hospice House.
