Betty Blancett Henry

Betty B. Henry, a native Memphian living in Fairfax, VA for the last 9 years, passed away at the age of 85 on August 15, 2014. Betty graduated from Humes High School. She worked for 21 years and retired from John Deere. She then worked for Shelby County Circuit Court Child Support. Betty loved training and showing her dogs. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome J. Henry and her parents, Francis and Ruth Blancett. A beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt leaves behind her three daughters and the three “best sons-in-law ever” Mary (Paul) Fontaine; Susan (Don) Jenkins and Vicki (William) Deweese; a sister, Joan B. Riggin; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a niece and nephew and extended family and friends. Betty was a member of Pender United Methodist Church in Fairfax. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Memphis Golden Retriever Rescue, PO Box 383122, Germantown, TN, 38183 or charity of their choice. The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 7 pm on August 19th at Memphis Funeral Home at 5599 Poplar. The funeral service will begin at 10 am on August 20th at Emmanuel United Methodist Church on 2404 Kirby. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery following the service. Memphis Funeral Home is in charge.
