
Betty Lou Hartley Kimbrough, 77, formerly of Memphis, passed away Wednesday, February 6th, at home in Atlanta, Georgia. Betty was born in Memphis, TN on December 24, 1935 and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. For several years Betty worked for Shelby County at the downtown courthouse. She was also a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. In recent years she moved to Atlanta to be closer to her children. Betty was a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother with a great love for the Lord. She had a zest for living and an indomitable spirit and will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her parents Vernon Lee Hartley and Thelma Louise Hartley and her brother, William Lee Hartley. She is survived by her children: Karla Kimbrough Gieger (Hollis) of Birmingham, John Cooper Kimbrough, Jr. (Linda Dash) of Atlanta, and Kellie Kimbrough Krakoviak (John) of Atlanta; grandchildren, Sarah Gieger, Ann Marie Gieger, and Luke Krakoviak. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 12th at 1:30 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church officiated by Monsignor McArthur with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church 45 minutes before the service. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org.
