Betty Jean Thomas

She graduated from Byars-Hall High School, Covington, Tennessee .

Betty was first employed by Union Planters Bank before starting her family. She married John Thomas and they had two children, Leigh Thomas and John Thomas, Jr. She later worked as an accounting clerk for Pinkerton Security Company. Betty was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church. She was also a genealogical volunteer for the Memphis Public Library and the Tennessee Genealogical Society and was was an avid bridge player and gardner.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her two children and also her sister, Joan Hoyt.

A memorial service for Betty will be held on Saturday, June 28 beginning at 11:00 AM, at Colonial Park United Methodist Church, 5330 Park Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.
