Born on January 4, 1944, in Belgreen, Alabama, to the late Gorman and Maxine Brown, Billy was a true Southern gentleman who lived a full and joyful life. An avid outdoorsman, he found his greatest peace in nature—whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply spending time outside. A devoted Alabama Crimson Tide fan, Billy rarely missed a game and cheered on his team with pride.
Above all, Billy was a family man. He deeply loved those around him and cherished the moments spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Peggy Brown; sons Darren Brown (Melissa), David Brown; grandchildren Tyler Brown, Cole Brown, Samantha Crouch (Matt), Madelyn Malagon (Vic), Carter Brown, and Harrison Brown; great-grandchildren Skylar Crouch, Emerie Crouch, Whitleigh Crouch, Kinsley Brown, and Kohen Malagon; and his siblings Jane Billiani (Bill), Grace Dye, and Stanley Kent.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. A service celebrating Billy’s life will follow at 12:00 p.m.
