Billy Harold Tignor

Billy Harold Tignor of Memphis was born on June 9, 1932 in Chester Co., TN to Romie Harold Tignor and Ruby Maness Tignor who preceded him in death. Billy was a Veteran of the United States Army. He served in the Korean War as a construction machine operator. He had many hobbies which seemed to change weekly, but the one that lasted was his love of HAM Radio. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Ervin Tignor. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Frances Tignor; children, Richard Harold Tignor (Annie), Anita Kaye Turner (Billy), Donna Marie Smith (Keith) and Jonathan Michael Tignor; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren with one more on the way; and by three sisters, Georgia Jones, Carolyn Jones and Joan Lemons. A reception and gathering of family and friends will be held at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave., on Thursday, Feb. 19 from 12-2pm with the service to follow at 2:00pm. Interment will be held at a later date in the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
