Bobby Gene Hinson, age 91, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021. Bobby was born February 6, 1930 to the late Elizabeth and Charles Hinson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Evans; his five siblings, Ruth, Charles E., Modema, and Sidney.
Bobby was a loving husband, father of four children and the youngest of 5 siblings. He was a retired Captain from the Memphis Police Department where he diligently served and protected the citizens residing in the city of Memphis.
He is survived by his two daughters with wife Catherine, Dianne Hinson (Marty Butler) and Adrienne Harrison (Tim) all of Memphis, TN; two granddaughters, Emily Harrison and Molly Butler; two daughters by his first wife, Betty Jo Diggs; Cynthia Coffman of PA and Linda Penjuke of PA; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Bobby's family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 30,2021 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm with services following at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122. The interment will be held immediately following the service at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.
