Many blessings to our family.  Calvin it was a joy having you as a nephew. I will certainly miss your phone calls.  Peace and love always.

I met Calvin about 20 years ago. He was a friend of my Pops.  I got closer to him when I moved back to niles. He became an like an uncle.  He was such an AMAZING man. He didn't speak much, but when he did, it was either something hilarious or something you would gain knowledge from. He wasn't one to waste a lot of words.  He was protective of the people he cared about. I called him sunshine because his smile really would light up your day.  Imagine big buff Calvin (Dog) really responding to me every time I call him Sunshine lol. He always did though. I learned quite a few lessons from him over the years, and I thank him for that.  I hope he knows how much I'll miss his presence in my life and just how much I appreciate him. Love you, Dog

I want to  give my deepest condolences to the Mayes family. I grew up with and went to high school with as we called him dog. I enjoyed watching him demolishing him opponents on the wrestling Matt’s you rest my friend and take your place beside the Father God. Your buddy Ace Aaron. Shane Mosby.

My memory of Calvin  is being a strong man he was not afraid of anything or anyone love you Calvin

I’ve known Calvin for over a decade, In that time he’s never been anything but kind. Calvin was very protective of those that he loved and cared about. That included all of us, right down to Gotti (the dog). Calvin became uncle to a sea monkey…🤷🏽‍♀️. He had a great sense of humor (once you could get him to talking). 
Calvin was always there to help. One of the many things was carrying a full size recliner, over his head to the barber shop about a block away. For a children’s Christmas celebration!

Calvin you truly will be missed.
