She worked for 33 years with the Memphis City Schools as a special education teacher. She was a longtime member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband of 60 years, Bill Wallace; sister, Marilyn Akin (Nick); several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her only daughter, Lisa Wallace and brother, Jack Fite.
There will be a visitation on Friday, March 25 beginning at 1:00 PM and funeral services at 2:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Burial will immediately follow in Memphis Memory Gardens.
Any memorial contributions should be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Colonial Park United Methodist Church, or the American Cancer Society.
She will be missed by so many. There is a hole in her sister's heart.
