She is survived by her devoted daughter, Debbie Crim and husband Alan of Memphis; her cherished grandchildren, Kris Crim of Memphis, and Amanda Rossley and husband Zach of Jacksonville, Florida.
Born on January 8, 1938, in Memphis, Sue attended Southside High School. She was married for 60 wonderful years to her beloved husband, Bobby Shelton. Together, they were long-time members of Cherry Road Baptist Church.
A lifelong fan of the Memphis Tigers, Sue could often be heard cheering on her team, whether in the stands or at home. She loved celebrating the Christmas season, encouraging others through cards and handwritten notes, being out and about, and visiting with her church friends. Above all, she treasured time with her grandchildren, Kris and Amanda, who brought her immense pride and joy.
In recent years, Sue faced health challenges with remarkable resilience. As a dialysis patient for the past three years, she never missed a single appointment—regardless of how she felt or what the weather brought. Though small in stature, Sue was mighty in spirit, always meeting life with determination and grace.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., both at Cherry Road Baptist Church (1421 Cherry Road, Memphis). Interment will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens (6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road, Memphis).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Memphis Child Advocacy Center.
