Catherine "Minnie" Duckworth

Catherine Minnie Duckworth, born on April 25, 1919 in Cherry Valley, AR, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015, in Memphis, TN at the age of 96. She was retired from AT&T Long Lines after 41 years of service and a member of Leawood Baptist Church. Catherine was devoted to her grandchildren spending time at their school and booster club. She helped once a week with serving meals at Kings Daughters & Sons nursing home. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Earl C. Duckworth of 62 years, parents Claude M. & Irene Kendell, and a sister Walter Lee Sanders of Cherokee Village, AR. She is survived by her daughter Cathy Duckworth Farr, two grandsons Anthony Strong (Cathy) of Eads, TN, Brook Farr (Lauren) of Memphis, TN, six great grandchildren; Anna, Sarah, and Sam Strong, Posey, Harry, and Jack Farr and a sister Polly Marsh of Las Cruces, NM. A gathering of family and friends will be held from nine o’clock until service time at ten thirty, on the morning of Friday, July 24, 2015, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119. Family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Leawood Baptist Church or Phil Glisson Ministries.
