Catherine Louise Long, 95, of Memphis, completed her bucket list by joining her Heavenly Father, in the afternoon of February 28, 2018, after attending her 95th birthday party that morning. Catherine also joins her husband Ernest Long, and daughter Donna Denise Canady, already in Heaven. She passed peacefully during her afternoon nap at Baptist Hospital surrounded by a room full of her family and special friend, Emily.
She was an exceptional, loving, kind lady, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is already missed by her six surviving children, Ernest S. Long, Jr. (Shirley), Catherine Anita Kramer(Arlus), Ronnie Lynn Long(Sandy), Larry DeWayne Long(Susan), Dennis Glenn Long(Jeanne), and Patricia Diane York(Joe); eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
She lived a full wonderful life, loving and being loved by her family and friends. Nothing brought her more pleasure than seeing the new babies joining her family.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 3, from 1-2 p.m. with funeral services to begin at 2:00 p.m.; all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis. Interment will be at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN.
The Kids of The Harwood Center would be her favorite recipient of any memorials.
