

CHARLES L. HIGGINBOTHAM, 85, of Memphis, passed away on July 25, 2012. He leaves his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn Anne Higginbotham, children, Suzanne (David) Dickey of Pea Ridge, AR, and Eddie (Kenya) Higginbotham of Bartlett, TN, siblings Peggy Ross of Memphis, TN, George (Betty) Higginbotham of Pontotoc, MS, Randy (Laurie) Higginbotham of Memphis, TN, sister-in-law, Beverly Black of Memphis, TN and grandchildren, Kyle and Heidi Higginbotham. Mr. Higginbotham, affectionately known as “The Minister of Mints”, was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church since 1973, and a longtime Yokefellow Sunday School class member. He was a WWII Navy veteran and a retired Clerk at the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 27 from 5-8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. The funeral will be at Bellevue Baptist Church in the Pollard Chapel on Saturday at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memphis Union Mission.
