Christine “Chris” B. Dukes, 86, of Memphis, born May 1, 1928, passed away Friday May 2, 2014 in Memphis. Chris was a long time waitress at George and David’s and later at The Yellow Rose. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church and was a former member of Charjean Baptist Church. Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Dukes. She is survived by her two daughters, Rita Schelly (John) and Doey Barrar, two sons, Chris Dukes (Lisa) and Terry Dukes (Sandra), as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandsons. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 3-6pm and a Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 2pm all at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Memphis. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be made to New Life Baptist Church, 3823 Orchi, Memphis, TN 38108.
