Chris and I grew up together playing all the sports and were good friends during that chapter in our lives.    He was such a special and kind soul.   I will always remember him with a little curl in his hair and a big smile across his face.   

Chris was a hell of a guy and athlete like his brother Bubba.  We spent alot of  time competing against each other until we ended up at Memphis State together in the bullpen.  I pray for the families loss during this time and comfort.  Rest in peace Chris my dear friend.

I didn't know Chris that well — he was three years ahead of me at Ridgeway and graduated with my sister Julie Smith Walker in '86 — but I got to know his toughness and his kindness on the football field. I quickly saw that he was the embodiment of Coach Sonny Winters' favorite phrase: "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." I am betting that Chris fought the good fight his whole life. RIP Chris and lots of light and energy to his family.

Chris was ALWAYS a kind and considerate gentleman! My twin and I spent days on end out at the pool in Balmoral, playing Alligator Charge and having Chicken Fights,  and Chris would never tire lifting us up on his shoulders to duel the others!!! 
My heart goes out to Bubba and his family and loved ones! 
I am praying for God to wrap you up work His Strength and Peace during this time!

When I was growing up there was a 10 or so year period that Chris and I were connected at the hip through baseball.  He was my year round baseball partner during the school year and through the summer.  He was a true friend and someone I always knew I could count on.  His passing is a real loss and I wish his family and loved ones all the best moving through this difficult time.
