Christopher Keith “Chris” Weeks went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, early Thursday morning , August 13, 2026, at the age of 49. He was born February 4, 1977 in New Orleans, Louisiana, where his father attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
From a very early age, it became obvious that Chris was a “people person” who would never meet a stranger. After accepting Jesus into his heart as his Savior and Lord at age six, it became apparent that God had blessed Chris with the spiritual gift of Mercy. His Mercy gift was evidenced by his tender heart and deep love for senior citizens, the “down and out”, small children, and animals. He was kind, helpful, and giving to anyone, anywhere, at anytime.
Chris loved to watch and attend college and professional sports games, especially baseball, football (Tennessee Titans and Memphis Tigers), and basketball (Memphis Tigers), and was a pitcher for the Bartlett High School baseball team during his four years of high school.
His love for people and his ability to talk to anyone led him into the sales profession. He was in auto sales and management for twenty years at City Auto in Memphis where he earned several sales awards. He also held a finance management position at Jim Keras Chevrolet in Memphis.
Preceding Chris in his homegoing were his paternal grandparents, Ernest Lee Weeks and Ethelene Foster Weeks, Tutwiler, MS, and his maternal grandparents, J.T. Harris, Sr. and Gladys Hall Harris Tate, Moscow, TN, and step-grandfather, Robert J. Tate, New Albany, MS.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Amanda Merkle Weeks, Bartlett, TN; his father, Mark Weeks and step-mother, Karen Weeks, Bartlett, TN; his mother, Ginny Harris Weeks, Bartlett, TN; and his sister, Candice Weeks Grubbs (Casey), and his beloved nieces, Amelia and Scarlett Grubbs, all from Oakland, TN.
A Celebration of Life honoring Chris’s life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Faith Baptist Church, 3755 N. Germantown Parkway in Bartlett, TN. The visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and the service will begin at 2:00 PM.
