On Friday, July 31st, Wayne Fike, passed away at the age of 58. Wayne was born on April 25th, 1962 in Memphis, TN to Darrell and Betty Fike. Shortly after he graduated White Station High School, Wayne started his career at Quebecor printing where he managed the printing press for 30 years. After Quebecor closed, he began his career as a maintenance director for Grace Management. In recent years, he worked at The Villages at Primacy Place where the residents and staff became a second family to him. He took great pride in his work and always had a story to share with his family about his accomplishments. He cared for the residents and wanted each person to feel safe and happy.
On November 25th, 1989 he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Margaret Pierce. Elizabeth had two children, Virginia and Zachary whom Wayne loved and cared for like they were his own children. Two years after they were married, Wayne and Elizabeth had their first son, Nick and six years after that they had their second son Noah. Wayne loved his wife and children with all his heart. He worked tirelessly to give them everything they could ever want. He was their best friend and hero.
Wayne comes from a big family and had many friends. He loved to laugh and have a good time with them. He was the best listener and took a genuine interest in everyone’s life. Anyone that ever met him, loved him dearly. Wayne loved to cook and recently put those skills to work by joining a local BBQ team with his son-in law and grandson called “Adventures in BBQ”. He was always thinking up a new recipe to try out on the grill. Wayne’s favorite place was on the ocean at Miramar Beach and during his life took many vacations there with his family.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia (Jacob), three sons, Zachary (Laury), Nick and Noah; five siblings, William Lewis Fike, Darrell Gary Fike, Connie Lynn Fike, Patrick Anderson Fike (Tammie), Ronald Cletus Fike (Julie); five grandchildren, Jacob, Alexis, Zane, Ruth and Elizabeth; two dogs, Zeus and Xena and cat, Casper.
Visitation services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN 38122. Funeral Mass will be determined at a later date.
