

SMSgt (ret.) Curtis McKeegan Wagner, 63, beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed into eternal life on January 5, 2014 with his loving wife of 38 years Joyce Ballard Wagner by his side. He was born to Robert and Mildred Wagner on June 12, 1950. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was the proud father to Amy Wagner Beaupre, Ashley Wagner Lemay, Jonathan Wagner, Casey Wagner, father-in-law to Eric Beaupre, Michelle McDonald Wagner, Michael Lemay, and loving “Papa” to his six grandsons Matthew, Grant, Lawson, Skylar, Hudson, Christian, and Knox his great- grandson. He is also survived by his siblings Bobbe Knight and Mark Wagner. Curt was a devoted husband and family man who relished family gatherings where he served his family’s favorite barbeque and coleslaw. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent countless hours fishing, hunting and camping in the settings he loved best. One of his greatest joys was watching the sunset with his wife no matter where they were. He spent countless hours fishing at his lake with his grandsons and looked forward to the younger joining him in the years to come. After serving 42 years with the Tennessee Air National Guard along side his second family, Curt enjoyed his retirement traveling with his family, and enjoyed many trips all over the world with his wife. Visitation will be on Monday, January 13 from 5-8 p.m. and funeral services are Tuesday at noon at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar. A military burial service at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest-Hill Irene, will immediately follow the funeral. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Curt will be remembered most for his wonderful hugs, his funny jokes, and his gift of conversation.
