My deepest condolences to all of you in the passing of Dan. Our family lived directly across the street from the Mayhews. There are so many great memories of Dan growing up, from grammar school through high school. We spent many a summers day together, playing in the park, baseball games, building tree houses; you name and we did it as kids. I remember when he got his first car, and how he would sometimes practice driving on our short street. We lost touch as we both got older and moved away from home, but our paths would occasionally cross when we visited our parents; Dan always had that smile I’ll always remember. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

We will always remember Dan's smiling face! We enjoyed being in Sunday School with him years ago at Ridgeway Baptist Church. He was fun to be around.

Our family went to Ridgeway Baptist Church years ago with the Mayhew family. They were a fun family to be around that loved our Lord. Dan helped Sammy through some of his medical problems and was a good friend. We enjoyed our Sunday School classes and Worship Services with Dan and Paula and a great group of other church friends for years. I pray for peace and comfort for the family and friends as we miss our dear funny kind friend. In Christian Love, Cherie’ & Sammy Howell 🙏🏻❤️

Our family lived across the street from the Mayhew family when we were growing up. I’ve known Dan since before either of us started grade school. We lived in a wonderful neighborhood where all the kids would gather at times in his front yard to play those old timey games that required actual physical activity and we’d also go next door to the park to play or ride bikes in the woods at the top of the hill. I reconnected with him over the past few years and feel blessed to have had him as a dear friend. Always smiling or cracking a joke and those hugs he could give! Such a special guy loved by everyone! You will be missed, sweet friend.

So many memories with this wonderful man. Most recent was just getting to see him with his grandson just a couple of weeks ago as he and Paula brought food to my sisters since she had a knee replacement. Just another 1 of the many, many kind, loving wonderful acts that he has performed as an Angel on this earth. And oh, what a wonderful grandfather he is to all his babies. I and my family have been so blessed to have had Dan in our lives and as part of our extended family. We will miss you so much. Fly high Dan. 😇❤️

My heart goes out to the Mayhew family. Dan was such a very loving, funny, and genuine person that treated everyone with absolute kindness. I have fond memories of laughing with Dan and Paula, and will never forget their act of kindness in offering me a temporary place to stay many years ago. Dan will be missed greatly by everyone who knew and loved him. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers.
