

Daniel Augustine Donahue, 67, died May 12, 2014 at Methodist Hospital North after a long illness. He was born October 7, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of James E. Donahue and Louise Donahue Jordan, who are both deceased. Memphis became Dan’s home after the family moved here in 1950.
Dan was a graduate of Catholic High School and Draughons Business College. He served 4 years active duty in the United States Navy 1966-1970, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was a conscientious and faithful employee of Memphis Light Gas and Water for many years, until failing health placed him on disability.
Dan had a kind and loving spirit that endeared him to all. Despite his poor health, he never complained, and gave care and support to his wife, and in earlier years his mother, during their illnesses.
His beloved wife of 32 years, Peggy, and brother, Thomas J. Donahue, preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Mary Donahue Jorgensen (William Ronald), brother James E. Donahue and 8 nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church, 203 White Station Road, on Friday, May 23 at 10:00 AM. Visitation, 9:00 AM will be held at the church. Burial will be in West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill-Irene Road at 12:30 PM.
