Daphene Hawkins, 83, loving Mother and Grandmother, passed away October 9, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Memphis. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of Minor Memorial United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Hawkins. She is survived by one daughter, Ylanda McCawley (Andrew); one sister, Yphon LaRoche; three grandchildren, Hollie Luig (Danny), Jameson (Cole) McCawley, and Cylie Wyatt (Nate); and two great grandchildren, Peyton Luig and Jack Luig. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh LaGrange Road, Memphis, TN 38134. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
