David Adams, 77, of Memphis passed away Saturday, July 31. David was the son of Roy and Catherine Adams, David grew up in Illiopolis, Illinois before serving in the army and attending the University of Illinois. He moved to and fell in love with the city of Memphis in 1978, working with the Memphis and Shelby County of Office of Planning and Development for 32 years. He was a long-time member of the choir at St. Mary’s Cathedral, loved railroads and geocaching, and an avid fan of Jeopardy and Knowledge Bowl.
David is rejoining his wife, Oralee Adams. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Michaela Adams of Poquonock, CT; his sister and niece, Marilyn and Sarah Taylor of Harrisburg, PA; his step-brother and step-sister-in-law, John and Dana Roe of Elk Grove, CA; and his step-sister Susan Roe of Port Angeles, WA.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 16 at Memphis Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
A Memorial service celebrating David's Life will be held on Tuesday, August 17 at 2:00pm with food and fellowship to follow the service at the funeral home.
