
Donna Kay Byrd Bridgforth, wife of Dudley B. Bridgforth Jr., died peacefully on June 10. She was born on September 17, 1942 in Sikeston, MO. She was the daughter of Sally Killian Byrd and Daniel Kemp Byrd. She was a graduate of Scott Central High School and Memphis State University (1964). She and her husband, Dudley Black Bridgforth, Jr., were married in 1971 in Memphis, and were the the parents of two daughters, Mary Dudley Bridgforth McLean (David) of Chattanooga, and Rebekah Bridgforth Woodard (Matt) of Nashville. She is also survived by her five precious grandchildren, Hallie, Will and Gray McLean, and Dudley (Dino) and Byrd Woodard. She also leaves her brother, Danny J. Byrd (Reva) of Sikeston, MO. Donna Kay was active in the community, serving as President of Les Passees, Inc., President of the Hutchison School Parents Association. She was also a past president of the Red Acres Garden Club and Risky Business Investment Club. A staunch Conservative, Donna Kay loved politics and was the Founder and Chairman of The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy- Memphis Chapter (a conservative women’s think tank). She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she also was a long time member of the Women’s Tuesday Bible Study which she thoroughly enjoyed. An avid golfer, Donna Kay was a member of the Memphis Country Club Ladies Golf Association as well as a member of the Gulf Stream Ladies Golf Association in Gulf Stream, FL, where she was also on the Membership Committee. Donna Kay loved golf, traveling, her Sewing Circle, the Tuesday bridge group, but mostly she loved spending time with her family. Visitation will be at Second Presbyterian Church on June 15 at 12 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. The burial will follow the service at the Pleasant Hill, Mississippi Cemetery.
