Doris Ellen Buckner

Doris Ellen Buckner went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2015. She was the Daughter of Robert E. Lee Merryman and Mary Abigail Wilkins Merryman. She retired from Advertising Checking Bureau after fifty years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murrell Gaston Buckner and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Linda Lee Sanders (Barry) and Gerald Lynn Buckner (Darlene) of Memphis; five grandchildren, Kelly Stevenson (Clark), Keitha Lee (Stan), Heather Reeves (Corey), Jason Buckner and Angela Moabed (Pouyan); eleven great-grandchildren, Bryce, Samuel and Adam Stevenson; Laurel, Mitchell and Henry Lee; Levi, Colby, Hudson, Lincoln and Meili Reeves. Doris was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. She was a Godly woman who was a blessing to her family. She leaves behind a testimony of Christ’s love to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and affectionately remembered as “D”. A gathering of family and friends will begin on Monday, February 2, in the Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN. Services will follow beginning at 2:00pm with interment to be held in Memphis Memory Gardens.
