Dorothy Wren Cohen

Dorothy Wren Cohen, age 82, died in her sleep at home on September 22, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Marvin Cohen, her daughter Carolyn Rinke and husband Gordon, step-daughter Suzie Selembo and husband Bob, step-son Bruce Cohen and wife Andrea, step-son Barry Cohen and wife Michal as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers Alan and John Russell and their families as well as other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her sons Buddy Wren and David Wren and her brother Bobby Russell and his wife Chapet.

Dorothy was a beautiful and talented singer and both she and Marvin shared a passion for theatre; and for many years they graced many of the theatre playhouses of Memphis performing together in plays and musicals where their singing, dancing and acting brought joy to thousands. Dorothy also was a member of the Sweet Adelines singing group for many years and communicated her love of music to several generations of family members.

The family will be receiving guests at the Temple Israel Cemetery Chapel 1708 Hernando Road, Memphis TN. 38106 on September 27, 2017 at 10am with a funeral service following at 11am. Online condolences can be made at www.familyfuneralmemphis.com.
